Introduction

The Fate Stones, also known as the Stones of Fate, were some of the most powerful magical artefacts in ancient Borea.

The Power-stones of Fate

The Power-stones of Fate allow their user(s) to manipulate the flow of time relative to onself, or another object, location, or entity’s (including one’s own) flow of time relative the rest of reality.

Power-stone of Past (Ruby Power-stone) — allows one to reverse time relative to oneself, or to de-age specific objects, locations, or other entities (including onself) relative to the rest of reality.

Power-stone of Present (Adamant Power-stone) — allows one to slow or stop time relative to oneself, or to slow or stop a specific object, location, or other entity’s flow of time relative to the rest of reality. This comes with a potentially horrific side-effect: If reality freezes or slows too much relative to onself, then one essentially becomes weightless (as one now occupies a realm in which falling or flying objects are haulted in mid-air), and further slowing of reality relative to onself will cause one to experience extreme cold and darkness (as the production of heat and light have been haulted relative to onself). Thus, this artefact may only be used to its full potential by extremely powerful otherworldly beings, or by individuals with access to magics capable of counteracting these negative effects.

Power-stone of Future (Sapphire Power-stone) — allows one to accelerate time relative to oneself, or to rapidly age specific objects, locations, or other entities relative to the rest of reality. When one accelerates time relative to oneself, one is essentially frozen in time relative to the rest of reality; this comes with a potentially horrific side-effect: If one is frozen in time relative to the rest of reality, then one becomes far heavier (as one now essentially occupies a realm in which objects fly and fall much faster than usual), and will experience extreme heat and light (as these quickly “pile up” upon one frozen in time). Thus, this artefact may only be used to its full potential by extremely powerful otherworldly beings, or by individuals with access to magics capable of counteracting these negative effects.

The Seer-stones of Fate

The Seer-stones of Fate allow their user(s) to see the past, present, or future for any individual or location in the material realm, but cannot see into the worlds beyond.

Seer-stone of Past (Ruby Seer-stone) — allows one to see any point in the past.

Seer-stone of Present (Adamant Seer-stone) — allows one to see any point in the present, or even alternate versions of the present.

Seer-stone of Past (Sapphire Seer-stone) — allows one to see any point in the most likely future, as well as other possible futures.
