The genus Homo is a category used in Linnaean taxonomy to denote the next largest category of living creatures into which the human race (Homo sapiens) can be classified. The species H. sapiens is currently the only universally accepted member of the genus Homo.

- • Western Gorillas — Homo (Gorilla) gorilla
- • Troglodytes (“Common Chimpanzees”) — Homo (Pan) troglodytes
